The common, frantic refrain among the non-jihadist, non-communist section of the population is “We’ve got to stop Mamdani!” They seem to forget that it is by election that people gain office such as mayor of New York City, and the Muslims and the economically disaffected are sure to turn out in big numbers, quite likely bolstered by a significant portion of illegals. The opposition vote is split. Unless there is an unlikely sea change, Mamdani will be the next mayor of New York City.

But so what? New York has already had as bad a socialistic mayor as could be imagined in Bill de Blasio. And as far as the Islamist thing goes, our entire country endured eight years of Barack Obama’s destruction of decades of diplomatic work with the Arab Spring, the near-perfect co-option and looting of the American health care industry, and the wrecking of race relations – at least on the elitist fringe. In the twelve years of Obama and Biden, decades of social progress were taken apart brick by brick, all to the delight of the America-haters whether they be Ishmaelites or Bolsheviks.
In this month of gratitude, although he certainly isn’t perfect and he is not going to be president for long, we should all – Democrat and Republican and Independent alike – give thanks to God that at least Donald Trump has his finger in the dike holding back the craziest of crazy demons. If the Obiden regime had another four years, we would all still be taking forced innoculations, opposition voices would be frogmarched and imprisoned in increasing numbers, and step by step all our remaining freedoms would be taken away.
We are still on the brink of the dystopian future Trump has delayed. Everyone feels it, though the “progressives” have a different take on it than the “MAGAs” and blame Trump for the disarray that their own leaders are cynically seeding. No matter. All who value the Bill of Rights and the true social justice expressed in the Sermon on the Mount should not sit idly by and let the country slip into anarchy.
This is the time to follow Candide’s example and cultivate your own garden. The world is full of crazies and demons. Keep your own heart and house in order. If Mamdani actually will usher in a Sharia New York, the light of Love that is truly God, not Mohammed, will still and always win out against the darkness.
